The One Who RemembersWhat would you do if you discovered some horrible truth to which the world was blind? Would you play the prophet and try to spread the bad news? Let me tell you this. The world is not easy on prophets, even if they bear good news. Truth, it seems, is not in much demand these days. Perhaps you would instead keep quite, and try to live your life as if you knew nothing more than the hapless fools around you. Just hoping that, should your dark secret become common knowledge, no one will find that you were first enlightened. The One Who Remembers
I ask this question because I find myself faced with just such a dilemma, as I have been a thousand times befo

The Telepath - Rv.3The TelepathThe Telepath - Rv.3
Go inside a madman’s mind, See his hideous thought of death. Perhaps you’ll find out why he’s mad; Perhaps you’ll go mad yourself.
I was walking down a quiet street that day when I came to that horrible bench. I sat down and waited for the bus to come. Everything was as it should be. The cars drove by leaving faint trails of smoke in the crisp autumn air. The squirrels were scampering along the ground as they prepared for winter. A lone bird sang in a tree to my left. I stared at the tree for some time trying to locate the bird that dared stay behind.
There were few people

Brotherhood of Cain - Nabas1The Ascent of ManBrotherhood of Cain - Nabas1
Nabas, the prophet
Adam, the “First Man”, was neither called Adam, nor the first. I call him Adam because a small band of nomads gave him that name much later. For some reason that name stuck while other names have fallen aside. While Adam was not the first Man, nor even the first man with a Mind, he was important. Adam was the first Seer. The Seers claimed that they received their wisdom from the gods or spirits, or whatever was in fashion at the time. In truth they were geniuses. More like Einstein or Hawking then Nostradamus. For ages men measured time by the Seers. Adam, like most of the Seers or the

An account of the paths of the Old Ones By Lamdil, who lived with the Old Ones
First upon Ettea, our beloved World, were the Old Ones. The Old Ones were great beasts of the plains. In appearance were terrible but in spirit they were gentle and wise. To the eye they appeared as great animals standing twice the high of our men with six stout legs like tree trunks. Their faces are not at all like those of our people; they have great ears and long trunks. Their trunks they use as we do our hands. They wore no clothing for their thick hide was as the bark of a tree. Their hides were gray or black
Thank you thank you thank you. I am so pleased/tickled/fondly heartwarmed that you are reading my story. I really looked up to your wrting on DA as it was the first pieces I found, I'm not sure how, maybe but jumping around from front page to user page. Anyway, your story about the boy who walked onto the bus unseen and had that amazing adventure is very similar in style and tone to how I chose to write this. Except for the writing in Carbon Life Form Salute is sort of coming from that world out there where he can inhabit nothingness in hopes to retrace the line he lives on.

What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire deviant life, that there's something wrong with the story. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.
You take the blue pill, the story ends. Your browser closes and you believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland. And, I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
I offer only the truth, nothing more.
